Piano-punching innovator Ben Folds has teamed up with iTunes to give you "The Sounds Of Last Night… This Morning." One song is recorded live at each of the 10 cities along Folds' current US tour, before being made available the next day on iTunes.

Each live track is recorded straight onto an Apple Mac and previewed on an Apple iPod, while Folds designs the artwork himself using Apple's photo booth application. We get it, Ben, you dig Apple. But for such a speedy turnaround, we don't blame you.

Three live cuts - Free Coffee, Errant Dog and Lovesick Diagnostician - are already available for download. And, yes, they sound as raw and off-the-cuff as you'd expect them to.

After the tour, all 10 tracks will be compiled for an exclusive iTunes live album. If you fancy downloading a couple of tasters along the way, don't worry, you'll get the LP at a reduced price via iTunes' Complete My Album feature.
