Ringo Starr tells fan to "fuck off"

Shouldn't those fingers be the other way round?
Shouldn't those fingers be the other way round?

He's not signing memorabilia any more, and now Ringo Starr is alleged to have told a fan to "fuck off".

According to UK tabloid The Daily Mirror, the incident took place at last week's World Music Awards.

The paper quotes an unnamed source as saying: "A middle-aged woman ran over and threw her arms around him, almost knocking him over. Ringo was a bit shocked, he just wanted to get away."

It's at this point that Starr is alleged to have said "Get off me. Fuck off," leaving the woman "absolutely stunned".

It was only last month that the former Beatle released a video message saying that any fanmail he received after 20 October 2008 would be thrown in the bin. Following a mild furore, Ringo posted another video message, this time stressing that he wasn't having a go at his "real fans".

Presumably, the over-familiar lady who accosted him no longer counts herself as one of them.

For drummers still distraught at Ringo's denial of fans' signing requests, you could always settle for another skinsman - Mathew Priest, from Britpop veterans Dodgy. Priest once played two gigs in a Beatles tribute band, so he's 'qualified' to help out. We guess.
