Mapex have announced three new crushed glass glitter coverings for its Saturn and Orion shell set-ups as well as a new lacquer finish and a new six-piece configuration for its best-selling M Birch drum series.
Krushed Glass Glitters For Orion and Saturn Kits
Consumers can choose from the diamond-like Crystal Krush, the sparkling Copper Krush or the more subtle Cosmic Krush. The wraps are supplied by Delmar and are available as a component pack only in the newly designed six-piece Studioease configuration.
The pack includes a 22"x18" bass drum, 10"x8" and 12"x9" tom toms, 14"x14" and 16"x16" floor toms and a 14"x5.5" snare drum. RRP for the six-piece all-maple Orion Series (TM628SC) is $3,989.99 and $3,059.99 for the maple and walnut Saturn edition (SW628SU). Hardware is sold separately.
M Birch Series
This Studioease set-up is made up from a 22"x18" bass drum, 10"x8" and 12"x9" tom toms, 14"x14" and 16"x16" floor toms and a 14"x5.5" snare drum. Also included are five pieces of Mapex 550 Series hardware, including a bass drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, cymbal stand and a boom stand.
The M Birch Studioease configuration (MB6285A) carries a list price of $1,869.99 for burst finishes and $1,689.99 for non-burst finishes.
The new Hermosa Fade transparent lacquer finish has also been added to the M Birch line-up for 2008. Transparent Midnight Black, which was introduced to the series as a special edition color in 2007, has been retained as a permanent color option for the series.
