We've had quite a few emails asking about the tobacco sunburst Gibson ES-335 on this month's cover.
"Is it a dot neck reissue?" "Is it a Tom Murphy 'aged' one"
No, it's editor Neville Marten's own 1961 335. "It's the year where they had the really skinny neck," says Nev. "I bought it from Guitar Village in Farnham about 15 years ago - actually I traded a ton of stuff and some money for it. It's a wonderful guitar but it's so fragile that I only dare take it out on special occasions."
Which is why it's also Nev secretly posing for the picture - "Do you think I'd let anyone else touch the thing?"
