Investing in good equipment not only makes you sound better but play better too. Just in the same a good quality guitar or speaker cable can improve your tone, so too can a good pick. Even better if string contact is so smooth it feels effortless!
Sitting down to play the guitar over long periods of time can be quite fatiguing. Some players sit with the guitar on the left thigh, turning the lower torso a little to the left (not great). Some sit crossed legged with the guitar on the right thigh (better as less angle to the torso). Others, typically classical players, use an adjustable footstool under their left foot so the guitar is angled upright.
The London Music Show to be held at ExCel in London between 8-10 October, looks set to be a fantastic, not-to-be-missed event. All at GT will be there and we look forward to meeting as many readers as possible.
Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray. Stevie Ray for breakfast. Stevie Ray for lunch. Stevie Ray for dinner. Frankly, I've had enough of all this pentatonic piffle...
GT had already been going over a year at this time, and this issue was packed with great stuff. GT: Who was your first influence to play the guitar? DB: Eric Clapton was the first guitarist I was aware of. I remember seeing him on TV when I was about 12 years old.

Although they have been manufacturing pro spec cables for many years, Japanese based company Providence have more recently become a hugely respected brand for high quality effect pedals and routers. From effects like the Stampede Overdrive SOV-2 through to the PEC-2 routing system, the discerning guitarist has had much to drool over! And as they continue forwards they bring new concepts to the market. For example, with their Delay 80's pedal now discontinued the new Chrono Delay DLY-4 pedal boasts similar aural delights but with several new additions: tap tempo, beat split, memory for two presets and their Vitalizer circuit.
