Velvet Revolver's second album Libertad will now be released on 2 July rather than the planned 28 May.

The first single for the album, She Builds Quick Machines, is expected to surface in mid-May and VR's six-string legend Slash has told Guitarist to expect new material and a revitalised band for their UK tour in June - including an appearance at Donington's Download festival on June 8.

“We did five shows a little while back here in California and just in those five shows it showed the band has become seasoned," says Slash. "It’s a lot more laid back and there was a lot of adjusting at the beginning of the tour for the first album. But we’ve got a lot more experience under our belts now.”

7 June - Cardiff International Arena
8 June - Download festival
