Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr likes joining bands; following on from his tenure with Modest Mouse he's now announced that he'll be permanently joining the ranks of The Cribs.

“It’s totally inspiring as a guitar player because they’re my favourite band that I’ve heard in a long time and I’m still a fan, you know,” Marr told BBC 6Music.

The guitarist had already collaborated with the group on new recordings for their fourth album but will now play with them live – including shows at this weekend's Reading and Leeds festivals.
