Norwegian pop geniuses a-Ha have been added to the 60-band bill of London’s iTunes Festival.
The month-long series of gigs at the Camden Roundhouse venue is now in its third year and is pulling out all the stops this time around with Oasis, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, The Saturdays, Flo Rida, Bat For Lashes, Jack Peñate and Paolo Nutini already announced and many more to be added.
Each performance will be recorded and made available for download on iTunes.
The mighty a-Ha will play on July 24 and be supported by German rock band Reamonn. We assume a-Ha megafan Chris Martin of Coldplay will be watching, possibly along with other admirers U2, Keane and, believe it or not, Liam Gallagher.
July 13 sees the UK release of a-Ha’s new album Foot Of The Mountain, a return to the 36-million album selling band’s eighties synth sound after the pop rock of 2005’s excellent Analogue.
