NAMM 2007 Highlights: Gretsch

Gretsch have updated the G6118T Anniversary model to what the company has described as ‘street legal´ specs. Fixtures include ´59-style trestle bracing a duo of TV Jones Classic pickups and, arguably best of all, an aged smoke-green lacquer finish. Remaining in place are the neo classic thumbnail inlays on the ebony board and obligatory Bigsby vibrato.

The company has also announced the release of the Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird bass, featuring a semi-hollow mahogany body with that outlandish shape, dual TV Jones Thunder´Tron pickups and a newly-designed Space Control bridge. With a 30.3-inch scale, it´s a lightweight bass that sounds magnificent and we reckon any ZZ Top tribute bands out there should opt for both this and the six-string guitar version to truly look and sound the part!
