M-Audio JamLab
M-Audio's unveils another USB guitar interface.
Continuing with its quest for total domination of the computer music world, M-Audio has released its smallest interface to date.
Designed specifically for guitarists, JamLab connects via USB and offers a single quarter-inch guitar input and a 3.5mm headphone output. Three rubbery feet prevent the solid black plastic casing from skidding about on smooth surfaces.
Installation takes around ten seconds, after which the interface enables you to record into your favourite audio app. JamLab ships with the GT Player Express application, which means you can use the device without a sequencer.
The software offers stomp effects and a variable speed loop player. The JamLab gives out decent sound quality and we really like the concept. Our only qualm is the price – £59 seems a tad expensive.
