Manufacturer's description

CME professional (www.cme-pro.com), announced that it has entered into an agreement to represent Wave Idea products internationally from October, 2005. CME will distribute Wave Idea products worldwide, for any query regard to the distribution of Wave Idea products, please contact CME directly at sales@cme-pro.com.

Since cooperating with Wave Idea, CME will provide a competitive price to satisfy our customer.

The first product handled by CME is Bitstream3X, "3X" stands for "3 Axis" because the Bitstream 3X features full control over three different Axis- X, Y and Z. A joystick allows control over two (X and Y), while an ribbon controller is used for the Z axis. With 35 knobs, 8 Sliders and 16 buttons, the Bitstream gives you total hands on control of any DAW software and comes with an astounding 13,000 presets including Reason, Live, Reaktor, Traktor, Absynth, Cakewalk and of course Cubase. Digital DJ’s will love the MIDI Cross fader and the 8 track motion sampler allows automated recording of the movements of the knobs, joystick, crossfader and ribbon controller.

Verdict

MusicRadar rating: 3 of 5

Pros

Feature-packed. Decent Reason integration. Clever Automation modes. Useful for live performers.

Cons

Poor build quality. Overpriced. Documentation could be better.

The bottom line

First impressions are good, but less-than-perfect integration with the latest software and poor construction let the Bitstream down.
