Manufacturer's description

From the company that made “groovebox” a household name comes a remarkable addition to the famous Roland groovebox family: the MC-808. Optimized for realtime performance, the sleek, silver powerstation features eight motorized faders on its surface — a groovebox first! With Roland’s most sophisticated processor at its core, the MC-808 has top-of-the-line sampling, sequencing, and synthesizer functions, yet it comes in at a new, low price point. For beat-makers, producers, remixers, live performers, and DJs, no sampling groovebox offers more bang for the buck than the MC-808.

I've transferred alot of my studio tracks to the 808 so i can jam them live with a couple of synths. And it works well...However there are a number of really annoying bugs and features.....
It doesn't like setting the patterns to play just external and swaps back to play both external and internal when it feels like it.
The Fx get cut off if you go to another pattern,(So those long delays just stop.)
And as the review says there seems to be alot of noise from the main outputs.
But its fun and easy to use live.

Just curious... why does the picture appear to have an MC909 in it???

Pros

Lots of presets. Great interface. Fun to play around with.

Cons

Noisy outputs. Not much sample RAM.

Verdict

It hasn't got the control of the 909, but then it costs a lot less…
