Although my favourite phaser is the Akai Intelliphase, the EVH earned its place on my pedal-board by (1) sounding fantastically throbulent, (2) having foot-operated speed control via the rubber-clad knob, and (3) only taking up one space rather than two. I almost always use it with script mode engaged, as it is a bit OTT otherwise.
