This is my first guitar and any problems I have had have been of my own cause or to do with the strap-locks. I have had this for nearly a year and have still have 4 of the original strings and they have barely rusted (I have broken the other two.)
The lack of a whammy bar is a titch problem not that you need one for a first guitar. If you want to get a first guitar that'll probbly last you your whole career you need look no further than this telecaster.
