This is a very, very nice telecaster.I've had Us,jap and rare california teles and this is as good as any.The neck is fab if you like a soft v neck, which a great for me.
The out of phase sounds are excellent and they are useful for filling a chord or arpeggio part.,but it's just a very, very good tele for a lot less money than a custom shop model.

I love my Baja Tele. Great sounds and sustain to make Orville Gibson weep. No doubt due to it's treetrunk thick neck. Brilliant contrasting pickups that compliment eachother in all but the out of phase settings. Heavy as a truck on your big toe guitar that feels solid enough to survive the apocalypse.
Bad points. The out of phase sounds are not this guitars best settings. I put a Bill Lawrence Qfilter in, which enabled those settings to be calmed down considerably but retain clarity. The fretwork wasnt great, high frets, flat fret tops, a sharp end in one place. I also dont see why Fender still use the 50's brass barrels. Theres so many great compensated designs.
Still it's a hell of a lot of guitar for the money. 3/5 cos their isnt a 3.5.

Love this Baja; it truly is a 'desert island' Telecaster with all the sounds you could possibly want. It even does a very passable Peter Green flipped pickup sound with the S1 in, on position 4.
I have only two caveats; the tuners could have had standard holes rather than split posts to make string changes quicker and I would prefer the fingerboard to have a satin finish. Those changes would make it my perfect Tele.

Brilliantly built, awesome semi-glazed neck, excellent width of neck, S-1 switch gives it a total of 6 different sounds, clean sound is brilliant - vibrant, snappy. I play indie music and it is excellent for it, cant rave about this guitar anymore, one downside it doesn't handle high levels of overdrive to well but i would say this baja could match an american but at half the price!
