Rosewood is a tonewood acclaimed for its rich, musical response and excellent projection, and on the CG171 these attributes are paired to either a solid sitka spruce or solid American cedar top. The former is known for its bright dynamics that suit a strong, rhythmic style, the latter for a mellower tone that will compliment a more lyrical technique.
Other high-quality features shared by both versions include mosaic-inlaid, multi-ply body binding, gold-plated tuners and an ebony fingerboard - a premium wood usually associated with more expensive instruments.
