If you want to look like every other player out there, then the V-series Plasma is probably not for you. However if you’re the kind of drummer that, well, marches to your own beat, then Mapex has something for you.

For an exotic Plasma-Lacquer finish we start with thin, genuine basswood shells and then employ a unique eight-step finishing process that gives a three-dimensional textured lacquer surface that's unlike any other. What's more, the V-series comes with everything you need to start creating the moment you open the box. V series sets include drums, double braced hardware, pedal and throne.

Besides Plasma-Lacquer, the V-series also comes in a traditional Wax Lacquer. With natural Oak and Cherry finish, the brand new finished that first offering in Mapex V-series.

Whether you’re playing covers in the garage or testing new material in the clubs, make sure you make a statement. The V-series gives you the look. The rest is up to you.

The bottom line

There's real potential lurking in those shells, which means this isn't a kit that you will outgrow in a few months, and the hardware pack will certainly see you into a gigging career. So all in all, another welcome offering from the Big M. Just be sure to check out the flashier finishes if tree-lover brown isn't your thing.
