The new AC30 Custom Classic is the culmination of over 45 years of high quality, guitar amplifier design and fabrication. VOX has taken the best AC30 designs and added a number of useful, very cool features to create the most tonally flexible and affordable AC30 to date!
Why has the AC30 been an icon for decades? It's the amplifier's unique, warm tone, its player friendly "feel" and its primeval circuit design. With its straightforward "what you see is what you get" control format, the AC30 was a hit with artists from the very beginning. Back then, VOX owned the '60s "British invasion" and to this day the AC30 is widely used by all kinds of guitarists performing in a huge range of musical styles.
With a number of modern enhancements including blendable channels, a true bypass FX loop, spring reverb and master volume, to name just a few, the new AC30 Custom Classic is an evolution of the original that is sure to become a classic in its own right.

hugely versatile - useful tweaking features to tailor to guitar being used, allows true character of instrument being used to be heard in all it's glory. It loves ricks, gretsch, burns, fullerton's finest etc but personally I feel anything more supercharged than a 335 doesn't suit the best. Normal channel loves the fuzz (im a 60s garage fuzz nut!) top boost channel gets you into marshall bluesbreaker territory, perhaps a little beyond when linking channels. Workmanship superior to bletchley's standard production amps but rectifier valves have a tendency to fail prematurely according to personal experience and forums. Power valves are JJs stock i've had no problem in 4 years regular usage (have new set waiting when required), no need to unsolder speaker leads when valve changing on newer models. Reverb (genuine spring) gets a bad rep but i think it is excellent if you keep it tamed, trem speed could do with slightly higher upper range rate as per review but still smooth and very usable - deffo not a deal breaker. Agree completely with comfortablynumb - excellent amplifier that i am still deeply in love with and has proven itself to be extremely reliable other than stock valve issues which are easily rectified (pardon the pun). I personally am not as big a fan of the more modern slightly higher gained ac custom models but it depends on what you want i suppose. Highly recommended by long time regular musically obssessive user - happy happy!
I have always wanted a Vox AC30 but I could never afford a good one, until now. I am in tone heaven. The modern features of this amp are perfect updates on this classic of classic amps and give me enough versatility to play with different sounding guitars and styles. This amp has everything I want/need in an amp, but most importantly it has the Vox AC30 sound that I have always enjoyed to play. Clean warmth and jangly Rock&Roll to Bluesy overdrive and Rock crunch with the organic natural sound that has made the AC30 the most copied amp circuit/sound in the boutique industry. This amp will take any pedal or guitar you plug into it and give you nothing but ear to ear grinning enjoyment as you play. Thanks to Vox for making an affordable AC30 for the hobbyist to enjoy !!! -- Colin (Comfortablynumb56)
