Lil Wayne settles copyright beef with The Rolling Stones
Hip-hop star Lil Wayne has resolved his copyright dispute with The Rolling Stones.
It was alleged that Wayne's track Playing With Fire, which appeared on Tha Carter III album, borrowed heavily from The Stones' Play With Fire (the title might have been a bit of a giveaway).
ABCKO, which has publishing rights over The Stones' early output, said that Wayne should have sought permission from them before releasing Playing With Fire.
Details of the deal haven't been released – so we don't know how it will impact on royalty payments – but a statement said: "All parties expressed themselves satisfied with the amicable settlement".
