Jane's Addiction, Kings Of Leon among Lollapalooza headliners
It's only fitting that the forever-fueding Jane's Addiction are amongst the headliners announced for Lollapalooza 2009. After all, band frontman Perry Farrell founded the (then) roving music festival in 1991.
Other headliners include Kings Of Leon, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, The Killers, Depeche Mode and Tool.
But who's counting?
"The mighty Jane's Addiction returns to Lolla after 18 years - meeting up with our pals the Beastie Boys and Depeche Mode, offering the best of the freshies The Killers and Kings Of Leon, and paying honor to one of our greatest inspirations, Lou Reed," Perry Farrell said in a statement.
"The mighty Jane's Addiction returns to Lolla after 18 years" Perry Farrell, forgetting that Jane's played the fest six years ago
(While Farrell's sentiments are undoubtedly sincere, it should be noted that Jane's Addiction played Lollapalooza in 2003 without bassist Eric Avery - so perhaps that's what he means by the 'mighty' Jane's.)
Other acts on the bill include Vampire Weekend, TV On The Radio, Ben Folds, Fleet Foxes, Passion Pit, Glasvegas and many more. Lollapalooza 2009 takes place at Grant Park in Chicago from 7-9 August.
