Bruce Springsteen readies new album for January release
Bruce Springsteen is finishing his next album and hopes to release it around the time of President-elect Barack Obama's 2009 January inauguration.
Before helping out Obama on the campaign trail, Springsteen had spent the autumn season prepping the new record, the follow-up to last year's Magic.
Springsteen is known to have had a wealth of material left over from the Magic sessions with producer Brendan O'Brien, but it's unclear whether any of those songs will make the cut.
Workin' On A Dream
One song, however, that is strongly rumoured as a contender is Workin' On A Dream, which Springsteen, along with wife Patti Scialfa, debuted during a six-song set during a Barack Obama campaign rally in Cleveland, Ohio last Sunday (2 November). Check out the video here.
The winter months should be busy for Springsteen, as he and his E Street Band will also rock the Super Bowl halftime show on 1 February. No doubt, The Boss will be in a jubilant mood, for reasons other than just football.
