Are the Red Hot Chili Peppers toast?
Better stock up on the mother's milk, to say nothing of blood, sugar, sex and magik, because you may not be getting any more - so says Red Hot Chili Peppers's lead singer, Anthony Keidis.
In a recent interview, Kiedis said that the band's last album, Stadium Arcadium, and subsequent tour could be their last, at least for some time.
"We were all emotionally and mentally zapped at the end of that run," said Keidis. After the tour, the band met and said, "'Let's not do anything Red Hot Chili Peppers related for a minimum of one year, and just live and breathe and eat and learn new things.'"
According to Kiedis, "Flea is very inspired to re-up his musical direction and ability and skill and he wants to learn new stuff. John (Frusciante) has been firing away on his own, making different solo projects. And Chad (Smith) joined a jazz band and went to Japan."
As for himself, the singer said he's enjoying his time with new new son, Everly Bear. "I'm just home, hanging out with this really cool little kid, learning how to surf."
