Default What are the most over-rated solos of all time?

Ok, so we've had the conversation and discussion on everyone's favourite guitar solo, but what about people's views on the most over-rated guitar solo/solo's of all time?!?!
I'm going to throw this out there at the risk of being critically lambasted but EVH- Eruption, just doesn't do it for me!

Comfortably Numb. It goes on and on without really going anywhere. Utterly boring.

+1 on Eruption too! Billshut!

I'm not sure if it's over-rated or not, but the solo from Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street makes me want to frisbee my laptop through the window on hearing it:

The fun starts at 3:22. I know music is subjective and all,but that is one cringeworthy solo.

YMMV

Actually you have a point there. The first solo to Comfortably Numb is a classic, beautifully constructed, but the second one is an overwrought bit of pentatonic blowing really. Nice tone though.

Surely what we're looking for here is a solo that doesn't fit the song and is just needless wankery? It doesn't matter if a solo is good/bad as such IF it fits the song.

For me? I adore the solo in Sometime World by Wishbone Ash, one of my favourite songs - but the record fades out JUST as one of the guitarists hits a bum note. Doh!

I dare say EVH and the pie-man are going to get some stick.

I think EVH's solo on MJ's Beat It is great - fir the tune like a glove.

(See what I did there ?)
