It's out this week in the USA, so if you trot over to Amazon.COM (not .co.uk) and search CREED you can listen to the MP3 samples
If you head on over to the official Creed website you can hear a handful of new songs... Overcome/Rain/A Thousand Faces/Full Circle I think are on the music player there. It all seems good stuff. It's not quite what I was expecting. A bit of an advance on Weathered and I think they sound fresh as a band. Possibly some influence of Alter Bridge still lying in the guitar?? And the lyrics again are divine as always... that Stapp/Tremonti thing going on again. I must admit it's good and I thought that Myles Kennedy's influence over some Alter Bridge co-writes on Blackbird were a letdown... some of the lyrics on that album (I'm only talking about one or two songs though!!) lacked the emotion of the first AB album. But this is like where it's at now! And I recommend it to all Creed/AB/Mf4 fans. |

Got it from Napster Monday but iPod was playing up so only listened to it last night and it was bloody excellent, best thing they've ever done.
The heavy songs are proper heavy and Stapp's voice is a lot louder, more shouty and rawer than before. The slower stuff is also well done, nice winding guitar from Tremonti (whose playing on the whole album is even better than anything before from Creed or Alter Bridge) and that old familiar Vedder/Weiland type voice. Definately would recommend it to any Creed or AB fans or even anyone who likes good hard rock |

Don't get me wrong, I do like the new album and still love Creed, but I want Alter Bridge back. You can pretty much guarantee Creed won't do a single gig over here, which is one thing I really like about AB.
But as long as they stick to their promise and get AB going again I'll be happy.

For some reason the album on Napster has only 9 of the 12 tracks.
I ordered the CD+DVD version from Play and it turned up today, there's an extra track, Silent Teacher, on the CD which is one of the best of the new songs. The DVD has 45 minutes of stuff on it, the video to Overcome (with quite a close up on Tremonti during the solo, good god but his fingers fly arounf that fretboard!!! ), and there are 8 mini docs on getting back together, recording the album, getting the tour ready and other bits. Watched a couple of them so far and very good.Really, really loving the album. Best thing Creed have ever done, solos on just about every song and Mark, Flip and Brian have definately brought that Alter Bridge edge to it. |
