I think i must really be in the minority here when i say i really dont like the album.
I am a fan of Creed but it was when MT was playing slower music that he sounds really expressive to me. Things like "who;s got my back" were great examples. This is just not for me what Creed were about. The songs are just not as good. MT is a great player but at times he sounds like he is doing either a Zakk Wylde impersonation for his riffs or a Vai impersonation for solo's. Admittedly i cant do either so fair play to him for that but he has his own sound and unique style when playing slower stuff. On the Stapp/Myles debate im going to say vocally MK is the best voice in rock but he does not write good melody lines. Stapp may not have the range and power of MK but he writes great melodies. For the heavy stuff MK is better suited.

Right, I've listened to this alot and I have to agree with Suit, this is easily the best thing they've ever done/is on par with MOP. It certainly outshines Human Clay and *shudder* Weathered by a country mile. Both of those albums had a handful (read 2 or 3) quality songs, with the rest of the stuff just filler.
This new album is pretty forking sweet and is a nice blend of AB edgy stuff with the Stapp/Tremonti songwriting click. Overcome is fucking awesome.
