I normally use a patch lead to link the normal and brilliant channels of my AC30 and run all my pedals into the front, but was thinking of sticking some fx into the link to see what happens.
Eg: Usual chain is guitar > pedals > Normal input linked to Brilliant input But thinking of: Guitar > Normal input > pedals > Brilliant input. Kind of an improvised fx loop type thing if that makes sense? Any thoughts on whether this would be worth trying? Or would it make bugger all difference? |

wouldn't you need a guitar to be going into the brilliant input rather than just pedals? Or you could use a stereo pedal of some sort and depending where you wanted send certain effects to a brighter sounding channel and guitar and other effects to the normal input. It's strange actually as I find my delay and other pedals which should work best in the effects loop actually work better straight in the front!

I probably didnt explain it properly, what I meant was instead of just using a patch lead to link the 2 channels (top pic), actually having some fx going in between the link (bottom pic).
Only have paint on my home pc so excuse the crappiness of my diagram! ![]() Although the more I think about it, the more I think it would be pretty pointless! What I might try doing is using an ABY pedal and have a dry signal go to one channel and the effects to the other. That way I could blend some dry signal in with the fx. Or maybe have drive, fuzz, wah etc in one, then mods and delay in the other. I've always run everything in front my amps before as I cant be arsed with extra leads and never thought they sounded bad. Just thought I might experiment a bit. ![]() Sorry if none of this is making sense. Just thinking out loud really. Too much wine does that to me. ![]() |
