how do!
I need a pair of audio taper 500k pots with DPDT push pull. I've had cheap ones and frankly you do get what you pay for. I've got a Dimarzio one in my N4 and its great, very smooth and reliable, very positive feeling switching. but at just over £13 each they're not really a bargain! so.. .does anyone know of an equal quality pot for less? I don't really like CTS pots as all the CTS I've bought have been too stiff. if there isn't a better pot, anyone know of a place that sells the Dimarzio one cheaper? |

none cheaper than the dimarzio. good quality push/pulls are hard to come by, most being complete pants
i have heard good things about the PRS one http://www.thomann.de/gb/prs_acc_410...l_poti_500.htm even more pricey, but its either pay for a good one or accept that you may have to replace it |

they just feel flimsy though ... i wish you could get a decent push/pull for £4.80 but its simply not the case... even going for a usually good brand like CTS, they work better but still dont feel very positive
something thats really bugged me for the last few months as it feels like a drop in quality going from a normal pot to a flimsy push/pull (oh, and for normal pots CTS do start off a little stiff and even rough feeling but wear in nicely) |

Harder to find (and not cheap) are the most excellent Yamaha push-push pot+switches. As fitted to the SG2000/etc guitars from the '80s. I love them.
Also, Warmoth list a push-push pot for $12. Not tried it.

In the past few months I've managed to find 3 Dimarzio Push/Pull pots for £19 in total, so they do pop up ooccasionally in private sales, but you have to wait a while and the regular price of £13 for 1 does seem a bit over the top.
Worst was having to pay £25 for a Dimarzio Multipole 5 way switch. It seems you really can't get those any cheaper than that. I opened up the link for that PRS pot, saw the price, laughed out loud and then closed the page immediately haha.
