Hi all
I have a 2007 strat that i want to put some new pickups in. I have read great things about Tyler guitars and was wondering if anyone had tried his calibrated sets or even single replacement pick ups. I am also looking at the Suhr Landau sets and have no doubt that these will get some love in here as i know we have some huge Suhr fans in here. The Tyler ones are £120 for the set which i thought is great value. Any thoughts on these sets?

I've got JTS 2500's in the neck and middle positions of my Tyler Studio Elite HD and they're great. The only thing is that to my ear they err more on the modern side of Strat tones so that might influence your decision a touch.

It may as i do really like the vintage tones.
If you were looking for a replacement set for a Strat where would you be looking? Tonally what im looking for are pickups that still have that Strat character to them but also have a nice amount of warmth. I dont like really thin sounding pick ups. I guess thats why i thought about the Landau sets as he gets quite a thick sound. I'm also finding that i rarely use the bridge pu so i was thinking of adding something a little less brittle sounding in there but not a hot rail as i had one in a previous strat and hated it. I have to say i am envious of your guitar there Bob as they look like tremendous instruments.

I had a Tyler Super in my Vigier, really good tone. Very articulate and unforgiving, some people like that, some don't.

I'm a massive fan of the Suhr V60LP's in my S1, i've been meaning to pick up the matching bridge one for it for a while now as the BKP mothers milk doesnt match well in the 4th position personally even though its quite similar tonally and output wise!?!
Not heard many bad things about the FL's either though ![]()

Suhr pups are very good too, I've had the SSV, SSH+ and V60s. Tone wise, they have alot in common with Tyler pups and, well... most high end pups and high end amps actually - really articulate, tight and defined.

So do we think that £120 for the set is good value. In comparison to £170 for a set from BKP?
