Next week I'm going to go to our local 'Classic rock jam', I usually take lead vocals and guitar for a few songs. I want to freshen up the setlist a bit with well-known songs that consist of just one straightforward chord progression that I can teach the bassist and co-guitarist in thirty seconds, then off we go. Here's where I'm up to so far.
Already in the jam night's repertoire: - Knocking on Heavens Door by GnR - G D C C - She sells sanctuary by the Cult - D D C G - Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix - C G D A E E E E Planned for next Monday: - What's going on? by 4 non blondes - D Em(? - have to check) G D - Passengers by Iggy Pop - Am F C G Also allowed are songs where the verses can be done by chugging on one chord, eg Gimme All Your Loving by ZZ Top, chug on C for the verse then Bb F C C for the chorus. Any more suggestions gratefully received. |
