Exclamation Yamaha AEX 520

I've been chasing one of these for a few months now after someone said my kisekae creation actually existed. I put a note on my blog saying I was interested in buying one and someone has emailed me!

The thing is, I've never actually played one... Just wondered if anyone has?

It would be coming from Germany, does £20 sound about right for postage??

is it the one with the mods ( Bigsby and switches) or the non-modded one?

i also thought it was the p90 one rather than the mini-humbucker one you were after?

i have played one but years ago. It belonged to a friend of mine. oddly enough I have met up again with him recently and been looking at his current guitars and he does seem to make good choices. the bass player in the band I was in then also tried it and was blown away by it for the money ( he could actually play guitar, not just go dum de dum on the bass).

they were never an expensive guitar but a good quality mid market buy that got sold off cheap as they weren't popular - the flat top on a gibson/gretschesque design was thought a bit weird at the time.

Yeah I should have known it was you

He says postage via DHL would be 21 Euros... I'll check with him if thats it insured. I don't know much about posting internationally though...
If it's insured and it arrives broken, what happens? And do I really need to be that worried about it arriving broken if he promises to pack it really well?

I'm gonna make him an offer via email tonight.... Wish me luck

It's unmodified, but that's kind of a good thing as I'm quite interested in having a go at that myself.

You're right it was originally P90's I wanted, but I've had a think about it and I think buckers will suit me better. And if I fancy trying p90's one day I might get bucker sized ones for my Artcore.

I love flat topped guitars, orange guitars, semi-hollows and humbuckers, so it's a no brainer really. That said, my sister is coming for a month long visit from Australia in november, so the bank can expect a phone call tomorrow asking for an overdraft extension
