anyone got any pics of some custom firebirds - Clare's post has reignited my love of these and I know a superb luthier that'll make me a lefty, but I want something a bit different to the usual sunburst or plain colours - a quick search of google hasnt really turned anything up so Im turning to the educated masses...

Mine's a lovely colour:
![]() I'm VERY tempted to sand it down (partly to look at the suspected neck break, in fairness) and refinish it in silver sparkle though. And then put a Bigsby on ![]()

I am currently renovating an old CLS (ibanez) lawsuit firebird thats had a pretty hard life. should look good when done though, although i wont be refinishing, just touching up plugs and fills. here is how it looked when it came to me
![]() I also am just about to start a lefty body for one in sapelle and macasser ebony. Its a rebody for a guitar i made a new neck for a few years ago - kind of in a triggers broom way i have always had a thing for firebirds but have not made any since i started building guitars My first commission was a firebird style: ![]() and straight after that i made myself a 'firebird junior': ![]() i loved the design of the junior one - definately something i need to try again!
