Time to ditch the old corded hair-clippers I've been using and get a beard trimmer. I'm skint though. Any suggestions?

I've got a Braun Cruzer 3 that you could have for much cheapness.

I'd take you up on that DiscoStu but I'm a bit funny about second hand personal items, and the missus would freak out

Got a remmington one from Boots. Was like £25 but I had £10 voucher so it only cost me £15 in the end. Anyway, really good with lots of adjustment, travel bag and 'detail trimmer' (pop-out thing). Can't say for other brands but I've had remmington hair clippers for a good few years also and they still work great and so I really recommend this beard trimmer.

Be wary of buying the rechargable variety as they have the habit of running down mid trim, usually when you have them on your beard as well

I have a Philips one with a vacuum that I've lost the charger for, in the meantime I'm using a cheapy battery powered Wahl, which is surprisingly good.

Ive got a babyliss i-trim. its is 'alright' but wouldnt really recommend them. I always use it plugged in to the wall socket anyway because the battery life is pants on it. also its pretty easy to cut yourself with it.

If the battery life is as bad as my Scherna hair/beard groomer it's beyond pants. A 12 hour charge barely gives a couple of minutes decent use at best, tho' it'll run for ages at such a slow speed it couldn't cut one hair. Beyond that it's useless.
