Default Films in 3D

Took my little girl to see G-Force 3D today. They gave us these huge Roy Orbison glasses that didn't appear to be in red and blue at all and so I sat there a bit dubious as to whether they would work or not.

It was a revelation! Absolutely gobsmacked I was. I now want all my movies, telly and videogames in full 3D. I don't care if the glasses make me look a twat. Mind blowing.

The film itself was pretty meh btw.

I've looked into it - the glasses alone are £100+, plus I think I'd need a new gfx card and monitor (mine are pretty basic) and it only works on games.

I'd ideally like to have an option to see telly in 3D in the same way you can turn subtitles on and off. The glasses must be cheap if they give them away for the price of a cinema ticket, so I guess the real outlay is in the screen or the projection equipment, and of course the filming itself.

I don't expect to see it for a decade or so but I want it now nonetheless

Saw that too but again you need weirdly coloured glasses. At the cinema I just needed slightly tinted Eric Morecambe jobbies. If anyone's interested the technology is explained here - it appears to require just one projector. I would love to find some demos online (I've kept the glasses, natch) but so far all my searching has come to nowt.

Chuck rules! It was touch and go whether they were gonna make a third season but it's been confirmed for 2010. Yay!

EDIT: Oh - one projector and a "z-screen" (???). Hmmm.

I do like 3D fillums. Not sure whether it works so well for live action as it does for animation, but I shall find out when I see The Final Destination.

My wife and I went to see G force - the glasses simply don't work for me because I don't have stereoscopic vision. I liked the movie but not as much as say Rataouille which I adore. She thought the 3 D was brilliant too

I went to see it with my niece in 3D. Shockingly bad movie but the 3D is amazing. Made me feel a bit woozy at certain points. At our cinema they showed a load of previews in 3D too, including Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland which is a mix of rel actors and computer graphics which looked excellent.

I saw my bloody valentine 3D earlier in the year and it was awesome but I bought scar 3D and it was almost in black and white because the glasses were red and green so I gave it away to the charity shop,
seeing my bloody valentine 3D (I've still got the roy orbison oversized glasses on my window ledge) reminded me of the 3D cinema we used to go in at flambards in cornwall as kids and they used to show films of women getting their cars stuck on level crossing with the train coming and people skating in and out of traffic and other tense stuff like that,
my mother used to hate it and stare at the floor
