Default George Lych's tone

Does anyone try and emulate Mr Scary's sound with pedals? Not with the Zoom unit but with conventional pedals. Which pedals do you use and which effects?

Not anything with a George Lynch signature...

Probably just his vintage plexi turned up full, as per normal. He's got a ton of gear and changes his rig pretty much every tour but mostly goes back to the Marshall for albums.

Love the guitar sounds on the 'Souls of We' album, check out the Youtube clip of him doing overdubs for it outside in the desert.

I think on the Wicked Sensation era he used Soldano amps. I have his REH video somewhere abouts and I think he mentions the Soldandos on that, unfortunately it's on VHS and I don't have a VHS player anymore

I know he uses a Phase 90 pedal and he used to use a Boss GE-7 for boosting his amps. Perhaps he used a Tubescreamer at some point too. Probably a chorus pedal of some sort also. There seems to be quite a lot of presence and high end on his sound, although not nasty high end. Quite a lot of ambience too.

But, as Emlyn said, typical GL tone is a cranked vintage Plexi so, ifyou don't have a Plexi, then you should check out a pedal that goes for a Plexi sound!.

Aye, I get a reasonable representation of his sound from my KORG unit, took some doing though. I have the souls of we album and damn fine it is too. Yup I think I need to get me some sort of Plexi device.
