Default Moving to B'ham for a PhD

I was offered a PhD looking into how vision works at Aston and I've taken it. I'll be moving to the middle of Birmigham at the beginning of September, away from all of the people I've met in the last three years. Scary stuff!

Good Luck!

Brum's a great city, plenty of musical delights to enjoy.

PMT is GAS heaven... :-D

Drop me a line when you're here, I'll take you 'round some boozers or something so you can get your bearings...

Did PMT used to be called something else? I bought my strat a few years ago from a big music shop in Birmingham. I remember the electric guitars were on the lowest floor and it had drums on the second floor (or something like that).

Thanks, there's a chance I might be moving there weeks before the PhD starts, and I might be the only person in my accommodation for a bit.

That sounds more like Musical Exchanges to me, which later became Sound Control / Reverb - it's down towards Snow Hill station in the direction of the Jewelry Quarter. PMT's out on the ring road towards the hallowed turf of Saint Andrews, bit of a trek from the city centre but well worth it.

Divn't worry, I'll show ya come September - just don't let me play anything
