Default REVEALED! My biking alter ego...

As well as being a denim'n'leather wearing biker, I also like to wizz around on this...

I dug it out of the garage this afternoon, as I hadn't ridden it for months. It made one hell of a racket, when I started it up. Discovered a big hole had corroded through the exhaust.
I took it for a spin around the village, but came back after a bit, as it was ridiculously loud and was drawing a lot of disapproving looks.
Looks like I'll need to fork out for a new exhaust...

Very cool.

One minor point, you are missing the lights & mirrors ... put these on and you really will look the dog's danglies on that beauty.

Did you ever read Ogri in Bike magazine? He was a leather jacketed cafe-racer rider. In one strip his uncle (iirc, could have been his grandad) gave him a scooter from his shed. I don't think Ogri was too pleased to be riding it ...

I've not ridden one, but I'm told they behave very differently to a proper bike.

Will you be learning lots of Paul Weller songs to go with it?

I am usually a powerranger suited knee down wheelie kinda eejit on my R1.

These last few days though, I've been blatting around on one of these (tis Mrs Manic's) in my old gigging leathers..I felt like something out of an 80s rock video!

Tis a different riding experience...nearly as much fun too!

(I've been riding it around cos after a 3yr lay up it was running like something very poorly, so I've been fettling it)

I've only ridden a couple of custom bikes in my time and every time it was a depressing experience. It's like pushing a shopping trolley while wearing roller skates.

The scooter IS gay. But looks pretty.

I would concur, but Mrs Manic's bike is 1100cc...so whilst not so fast it does have enough torque to make it lots of fun at low to medium speeds.

I won't be putting on all the lights'n'mirrors, thanks, I'm not a Mod.

Yes I used to buy Bike regularly, I'm a biker who happens to like scooters too.

They are very different to ride, not least because they are so much slower.

I'm a big fan of the Jam, but not his solo work.

I had someone pass me, in a 30mph zone, doing about 50 on the back wheel in just a T-shirt and shorts, today whilst I was on my Bonnie. If he was trying to impress me, he failed.
My tear-arse days are over. I just can't be bothered.

There is a time and a place for lunacy. 30mph zones are not it.
Public roads often aren't it either. Track days for proper idiocy.
Also, T-shirt & shorts? No thanks. Wrap up and protect well - heck, bugs hitting you at, err, 68mph m'lud, really hurt through leathers - never mind in just tee-shirts.
