Default Beginners Keyboard advice please.

Guys, I don't normally venture outside anything that doesn't have six strings but my lad has just started having keyboard lessons at school and they've recommended that we buy a keyboard for home use.
It must have full sized keys apparently.

Should I be looking at the Argos efforts or are there other hidden gems? Ebay for a second hand bargain maybe?

Point me in the right direction please - budget is about £100 but I'll spend more if absolutely neccesary.

Full size keys yes, you must also have touch sensitive keys, heres the one to look for http://www.instruments2go.co.uk/Yamaha-PSR-E313-Keyboard-p-3126.html[/url], if you can find this keyboard s/h buy it!

they also can work as a midi master keyboard if you decide to go for a computer sequencer in future

Yeah get a DJx - our band dusted one off and its got some great sounds in it, aswell as the klaxons sample library it would seem.

Funny you should phrase it like that - I've got a GEM RealPiano that I picked up for less than a ton off evilBay, stunning bit of kit for the money. Depends whether you want piano-weighted keys whether something like that'll suit though...

Nowt. He starts lessons next september. But I will find out!

I've got a very old Yammy DX21 in the loft somewhere which he can use but it's not touch sensitive and I have to go to the aggro of connecting it up to an amp each time.

touch sensitive is a must. If he's going for the piano side of things, weighted keys is a big difference too. Not got any thoghts on particluar models though!
