Talking "Fallen Angles", made in 2006, first time combining hard and software

Hi all,

This track was made in 2006, first time I combined keyboard (KORG LE Triton), software (still using Magix music maker deluxe 10 back then), and samples (some come with magix, some I bought from Ejay). I’ ve never uploaded this since then, keep thinking that something is still missing. But then, that’s the whole point of posting it here, I think, so I can get feedbacks. So, if you have some time to listen, please go to my myspace, first song on the list, or in my soundclick http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7598913

Any input will be much appreciated…

Cheers!

Good stuff man! Fitting for films I imagine or like those large scale shows like Circe de solais (or however its spelt).

I think it has a great structure, melodic progression, a really engaging harmonic sequence. You've also done well with the use of electronic manipulation without making it sounding too cheesy, imo.

I think the guitar needs boosting at 2:00~. Not by much, but I think you need to bring it out a little more.

Not sure if those vocal stabs (or whatever sound they are) at around 3:20 work, but that could be me. I think the change in texture is good, but that particular sound doesn't sit with me (although I like the idea that you bring that idea back/work it into the end).

Overall production I cannot fault, apart from the guitar I mentioned.

You should check out the artist Globus, if you already haven't!

Talking

Noizesurge, thx for your comments. I'll have another go on the giutar level then, if I can still find the file though. My computer was reformated not long after I made that song and I know I keep the file safe..too safe, I think, I can't remember where I put it anymore... as for the voice stab part, I personally like that bit...maybe I'll adjust the level...anyway, thx for the thorough suggestion, appreciate it, and I'll have a listen on Globus..

And my thanks also goes to your comment, tehLord. thx 4 listening both this track and "the Destroyer"... I made those two in practically the same month (or two months..?), so I basically use the same set up...glad you like 'em...!

Cheers!

Default Nice one

Love when it all kicks in at 4 minutes. Possibly some overloading of the centre (the stereo stuff is good but the main stuff seems to be all in the middle of the mix) but it could be down to mp3 and headphones!

One thing I would say is that you seem to dig up old tracks (Ejay, Magix Music!!!)....
lets have some new ones!

Grum.

Thumbs up

Guys, 1st of all, thx for your comments and for listening...now for each of you...

@Grum: thx for the comment, I'll check out the stereo thing...about digging up old tracks is simply because I haven't really get comments on them (this includes remixing and rearranging them) since I've never uploaded them before...I'm still making some new ones (like the "in light of darkness"), but in the meanwhile I would like to get feedbacks on these old tracks that I've been working hard on as well... thx 4 the reminder m8...

@davilazita: thx m8, the piano comes from my KORG Triton LE, and I add delay, glad you dig it...

@Ip: glad you also enjoy the piano, especially since I'm not really a piano player let me have another hear on the snare, thx 4 that input...

So, again, thx guys, I really aprreciate it...

Cheers!
