Hi Folks,
Ive just finished recording a new tune called Second City. I tried to do a really energetic tune splicing some Beatles with the Sex Pistols :-) This is it here -> http://www.last.fm/music/Michael+Doris Id be grateful for your ears and thoughts! cheers Michael Last edited by dorism : 04-30-2009 at 08:43 PM. |

It's Oasis' Acquiesce, then the pre-chorus from Primal Scream's Rocks, isn't it? Um. Sorry
![]() The vocals are a bit dry and sound tacked on, though the bits of double tracking work well later on. A touch of reverb and a tad more bass might cement them back into the mix. Catchy though! |

It was rather fun ... rather Oasis-esque, but some nice rich west coast harmonies and a good catchy pop song.

Cheers ANeutron. You are totally right about Acquiensce! My mate heard it and noticed that too...LOL. Not sure about Rocks. Dont think Ive heard that tune before.. at least not my knowledge. Yeah I know wht you mean about the vocals. I'll try a tad more reverb to see if it can sit better in the mix. Also on listenign again I need to lift some of the guitar parts up a wee bit and as you say drop the bass down a tad.

Sorry, I meant add a bit of bass to the vocal EQ - should make it sit a bit better.
