Has anybody been watching this? I find it very, very good. You can catch the latest episode which is some sort of "best of" now (apparently Charlie Brooker has injured himself so they couldn't do a normal episode this week). I think it's the kind of thing that everybody should watch.
Here is Charlie Brooker on why he made the program: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009...harlie-brooker Quote:
Here are the Google Video results for clips from the show: http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?q=newswipe# And a very good section on the reporting of school shootings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8rMY...layer_embedded |

Caught a bit last night. Very deconstructive. Great slating of serial killer coverage.

Yea, check out Screenwipe if you can find it out there (cant be arsed meself
), he did a show for the Beeb which was comment on general media as a whole, rather than just the news as he is doing at the mo. I like his cynicism. Right up my humanity hating street hehe.

Yeah, Screenwipe is pretty much a televisual version of the Screen Burn columns and other stuff he's done in the Saturday Guardian's TV guide. Newswipe is much more of a well-planned, single piece of work, and is one of the best things I've ever seen on TV. It's also good to see Charlie working with Chris Morris again (CM is the script editor, I think; another former colleague Armando Iannucci is involved somehow as well).
