I own a Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded and have been thinking of replacing the Burstbuckers with P90s.
I own a Gibson Flying V that has a GFS Mean 90 in the neck position and i like the sound of that pickup a lot but was thinking about something with maybe slightly less output for the Les Paul, the Mean 90 is a really loud pickup. I would prefer that the P90s had nickel plated covers and they were humbucker sized. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as i have no experience of P90s apart from the Mean 90. Im not a heavy metal guy, im more into clean to moderately overdriven sounds. |

Missisippi Queens by Bare Knuckle are highly regarded by P90 afficionados.

A friend of mine has Bare Knuckles Mule humbuckers in his SG and they sound pretty damm good, maybe the Mississippi Queens are just the thing but given the current exchange rate from pounds to icelandic crap money they are really expensive though..

BG Pick Ups (http://www.norcalguitars.com/) do some good pick ups at a good price and they get good reviews (http://reviews.harmony-central.com/r.../brand/BG+Pups).
I know they come from the States but I ordered some Strat pick ups (which I'm very pleased with) from them that came quickly for $10 postage with no customs charges. |

I've got a Mississippi Queen in the neck of my Supersonic and it sounds superb... the Fralins in my PRS SE aren't too shabby either - I picked them up really cheaply on US ebay with no customs charge, ended up paying about £70 for the pair when the exchange rate was decent

I hear good things about GFS, I'm awaiting one myself from the States...but anyway, the Iron Gear Steel Twin I've got in the bridge of my Tele kicks arse, their Alchemist 90 looks interesting.
