I'd been thinking about replacing my old Gorilla 15w practice amp with one of those small valve combos that are all "in" at the moment, because it sounds a bit shit, to be frank.
Then I had a brainwave and decided to try it hooked up to my Marshall cab, and, wow! what a difference! The clean sound is warm and clear, not spiky and brittle, and the overdrive actually sounds quite similar to a Tubescreamer, not ragged and farty. What also surprised me was how loud it was too. Think I'll hang on to it a bit longer... ![]() (Still want a valve combo, though!) |
