Arrow FS: Fender CIJ '62 Strat RI (not-for-export)

Beautiful CIJ Lake Placid Blue Fender '62 RI Strat for sale.

Selling as I simply have too many guitars!

This is the Fender Japan not-for-export '62 AVRI equivalent - with US Vintage pickups (which are spec'd exactly the same as the Fender USA versions), alder body, maple C neck with rosewood fretboard (9.5" radius), and unusually, all-black accessories from the factory.

The only real difference between this guitar and the American counterpart is the lack of nitro, but even on the USA version that's sprayed on top of poly anyway so in my opinion makes absolutely no difference.

The guitar is in near-mint condition with no visible blemishes whatsoever. It has been played only very lightly and it currently setup with a floating trem for .010 gauge strings. It includes a Fender soft gig bag.

Asking £595 + actual delivery cost (add 3.5% for Paypal, pay by bank transfer to avoid that charge!), or local pickup is welcome as well (North London).

PM for more details.

The ones with US Vintage pickups are basswood bodies, its just the Texas special range that are Alder.

Great guitars though, i used to have the same one in OTM

Hmmm, was certain this one was Alder but I'll have a look...

Either way, these guitars to buy "new" from importers are now well over £700 in most cases..

Not all of them, theyre different specs at different price ranges. Plus theyre all japan market - technically none of them are meant to be exported except for the models listed on www.fender.com as MIJ, the rest are all aimed at staying in Japan

I got a good deal on mine about four years ago (£410 new, delivered) but i cant believe how much these have gone up since then! Fantastic guitars indeed but my heads still remembering the old price
