Just a guy on Gumtree, there are some great people selling guitars at realistic prices still. I dont see the point in paying £800+ from a private sale when its cheaper to buy a used SG from a dealer. Some people are in fucking la la land thats all.

^ yeah, definitely. if i can try it first, that's worth more to me- not less! and ebay doesn't help where you get eejits who don't realise that they're being drawn into a bidding war, which pushes the prices up...

I doubt you will find an SG standard for less than £999 from a dealer thses days btw
