after getting some new equipment for christmas i decided to lock myself in my studio and make a few quick "whatever happens, happens" tracks. i think the first minute of these are pretty much random noise before it starts to even resemble a song. but, that's the way they came together when i was making them so i decided to leave it in.
one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CQDGBOrYoE two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s77w5AYRMvM three http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93LtCLh0nI4 there's a million things i'd go back and "fix" (i.e. i don't know if i even like the second one.) but, i think forcing myself into a limited amount of time and making quick (and final) decisions on things is a good exercise for me .... because i am just awful at that. i may learn more from projects like this than i do from the tracks i've been nit-picking for months. any feedback is welcome in hopes that i can apply it to future fiddlings. |
