Default I've got the tone I wanted...

My Marshall 2061X arrived today.

Let's just say that this smiley: was clearly inspired by someone who had just taken delivery of a handwired Marshall.

I'm just taking a break from playing it because I'm a bit concerned about the abuse my ears are getting (I'm playing it with everything on 10, obviously). I'm getting the tone I've been after for ages... It's dirty as hell, but it still also sounds clean. I can hear all the notes in six string chords. I can hear the tone of the guitar, and it's almost as though I'm getting a clean tone and a distorted tone at the same time. I can't help playing Highway to Hell, Panama, Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love.... it's just the right sound.

I'm very, very chuffed. I'll have to do some gigs with it, but I think this is my new favourite amp.

So far I've been using the Les Paul, so now I'm going to try my Corvette and Strat and see how they sound.

Good work! You will of course be bringing it to the IGF this year, yes?

Of course it'll be at IGF. I need a secret weapon to help me blow Martin Goulding off the stage. Ripping my trousers open is a bit 2008, and god knows it's not gonna be my technique.
