Default Photography / guitar types...

...you might be interested in this.

Chris V and I (Chris W behind the mask today...) have just been down to Future's Photo Studio with Guitarist magazine who were shooting the new PRS Paul's 28 for their next issue.

We shot a little behind-the-scenes video if anyone has ever wondered either what a £30,000 guitar looks like, or what our photography set-up is.

Check it one-time!

30k for a guitar built by someone who's out of practice. Sod that.

I know what 30K looks like, and it certainly isn't PRS shaped.

No newly built guitar made from the usual materials is worth 30K.

I have no probs with people with the means owning one if they want - but it is not worth more than any other talented world class luthier that would do it for about £3K

anhd FFS - where is the carbon neck?

Can't see the video at work - yarr! I'll have a look at home.

I'm interested in this... the article says the guitars were hand-crafted by Paul Reed Smith himself. Bowks lent me a PRS DVD to watch a while ago and Paul says that he went back to the floor and made a few guitars, but they weren't good enough and so they got chopped up.

Maybe he's been on the Bailey course since then.

...guitar aside though, our photography set-up is pretty cool... isn't it? It was the first time I'd been down there and I was friggin' impressed.

They had the camera on a gigantic jig thing that was also holding the lights, and every shot went straight through to the computer in about 5 seconds. They also had a big flash battery thing with lots of green LEDs on it that was hooked up to the camera and the flash lights.

I didn't get to play with any of it though. I wonder why...

Yep pretty cool.

I'd have been worried about the guitar resting on that old wooden table though.
