according to my maths they are the same thing...
why do you see pieces of music written in 3/4 with a 6/8 bar in the middle? or songs in 2/2...why not call it 4/4? what's the difference? thank you marco |

http://www.musicradar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33248 6/8 has more of a 'two beats in the bar' feel: ONE-two-three FOUR-five-six, tends to be quicker, lilting feel 3/4, slower, more waltz like feel, ONE-and-two-and-three-and ONE-and-two-and-three-and. Golden Brown is in 6/8 with a few bars of 7/8 thrown in. Also Back to the old House by the Smiths. And many more.
