Default I'm an amp-utee

This time yesterday, I owned a Marshall Jubilee half stack (with a head that wasn't for sale) and a JCM800 combo.

To my surprise, I now don't own an amp. Well, my brother is currently running an errand for me, dropping off the amps to their respective buyers and collecting the cash. Assuming his debt collection skills are what I think they are, I will end today ampless and with a lot of cash. Someone made me an offer I could have refused, but didn't.

It's actually quite refreshing. I have a clean slate and a decent budget. Now, the re-GAS can commence. As I've said elsewhere, I'm thinking Blackstar. I'm definitely thinking low-powered, all-valve, non-master volume.

EDIT: Just had a phone call from my bro to say the amps are gone and he's got the money. Woop! I've actually made a small profit on both of those amps, as well as having the pleasure of their use. It would be superb if I could keep that tradition going.

Did you kick the 25/50 head then? Just keep that, permanently on the 25W setting, and get a 2x12

Which JCM800 combo was it? I've got a 4010 (horizontal input) which is surplus to requirements. How much did you get for it (if you don't mind me asking)?

Nah, I sold the Jubilee head. I'll probably buy another one down the line though.

I got £300 for the 4010, exactly the same as yours, Steve. It went really fast too, I probably could've got more if I'd wanted to hold out.

You're bonkers

Assuming you got a huge wadge of cash for the Jubilee, why don't you look for something like a 30W valve head and cab? I'm sure you'll be able to find a nice boutique piece of kit out there somewhere...

So will you be enquiring about an 18W head like GS's?

Blackstar Artisan 15w heads are very tasty, only about £700.

I love this idea. I'd prefer solid-state rectification for my needs, though.
