Hi guys I have an exam coming up and I need to DI an electric piano similar to this bad boy: https://musiciselementary.com/images...a_YDP213-2.jpg
My question is, to do this is there an output jack which I used to connect the piano to the DI before sending the XLR to the stage box or is it a different form of lead or 'name' for the port on the back of the piano???? Cheers... |

Well, without an output jackyou couldn't DI things :-P.
DI'ing is takes an unbalanced output and makes it balanced. Usually on electric pianos you have 2 output sockets (they will be labelled), left and right. This basically gives you a pretty cool stereo image, but you can just take a mono output which is usually the left channel, so it goes: Output jack left (mono) > DI box unbalanced jack in > DI balanced XLR out > Stage box. Hope that helps ![]() Monkey! |
